Hardbopjazz
Would anyone know what album contains the 70s pop hit, Alone Again Naturally? I did find it was released as a single but I can't fine any of her albums that contain this tune. It may have only released as a 45.I did fine someone selling the 45, but for 50 dollars I'll stick to listening to it on youtube.

page
Wow, thanks Tom. You know, Gilbert O'Sullivan was one of the first singer songwriters getting my interest to lyrics. I wrote his lyrics down by ear from cassette, lol. How lovely Sarah recorded one of his beautiful songs. She had such a great tone of voice. Hardbopjazz
She sure does have a great voice. I think the best voice of any female singer ever, jazz or any other style of music.
page
Yes, well 4 octaves are remarkable for a female singer. I love her low range especially.
Cyril
I like this song by Gilbert O'Sullivan, NOT by Sassy.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_P-v1BVQn8 Speaking in 2009 O'Sullivan said; "I write pop songs. End of story. That's all I wanted to do. That's all I want to do. And that's all I continue to want to do" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5G7UIeYGq0k&list=RD3KdkDjB2JvM&index=11 This is the real Sassy IMHO Edited February 22, 2015 by Cyril

Yes, the original is best, but I liked Sarah's version too. I never knew she did a version of the tune. JSngry
The song seems to have had a wide appeal!
page
I never knew either, it was a pleasant surprise. I ran into a big band arrangement of the song from the Woody Herman series. I think it is this one: Musicians do recognize a good song and want to give their rendition to it. A compliment to the work of Gilbert O'Sullivan. This last arrangement is by Alan Broadbent btw. in case you are wondering Edited February 23, 2015 by page

Oh well, Oh well, now that everyone knows, I will scratch this from version from my BFT in June. I was listening to Redman's Musics CD and that's what had me see who else may have recorded the tune. page
Nina Simone's version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FOhboyfn4Q Man, she was one of a kind, wasn't she?! I must say I ache with her while listening. It is terribly sad and familiar. Thank you for posting, Tom. It impressed me. Hardbopjazz
Totally different lyrics than what Gilbert O'Sullivan wrote.
page
I know, she adjusted them to her own father. It struck me deeply I must say.
