The USPS SUCKS

Media mail is even worse than always.  What should take days is taking weeks. I’m waiting for a set going from NY to NJ that I purchased two weeks ago; it would have been faster if I drove to NY myself.  Who knows when it will come.

That gives me hope it may arrive still... but yes, moving on as Tom said.

I have a package arriving today that was shipped on April 12 from the St. Louis area. The  NY one was shipped on April 9 and is nowhere to be seen. Fingers crossed.

this makes me nervous; though I have never, in 25+ years, lost a package via USPS, I depend upon media mail, otherwise I would have to raise prices on my various projects.

Here's a good one. Package stayed in Jersey City for a week. Instead of proceeding North (I'm in upstate NY), it was then sent back whence it originated in NC.

That’s incredibly annoying. I live in NJ and am finding Jersey City to be a huge bottleneck. I received a package today that went through that facility. Still waiting on two others that have been routed through there.

Dusty Groove have informed me that those of us waiting for delayed packages, they have been in close contact with the post office about the lack of packages moving and the lack of updated tracking, and to be patient.  They said they hope the issue will be resolved over the next few days. There was an issue with all packages shipped April 7th apparently.

We received no mail delivery yesterday - no packages, no nothing. Haven't checked today.

Patience is about all we have! No progress today either.

Or pay for first class or priority or UPS or FedEx.

If I (we) knew of these problems, I’m sure we would have. Going forward, I will be asking for priority.

So, time really is money.

Don't assume UPS/Fedex will be great.

I placed a small Staples order from work for office supplies. Pre-COVID, it would have arrived via UPS one day later. It now will be at least 8 days (each day the ETA gets pushed back a day).

But I'm sure they will outperform USPS.

I was sad that my mail was slow until I met a man who had no mailbox.

No mail delivery Wednesday, no mail delivery Thursday - zip, nada. Don't see how media mail vs. 1st class vs. priority makes any difference when they just don't deliver at all.

NY is a mess package-wise. Still waiting on something shipped a couple weeks ago from an hour and a half away. Dunno if it'll ever show.

It does seem to make a difference. I received a cd today I ordered less than a week ago that went first class.

Sounds familiar. No change in my two missing packages :(

Sorry to bore you with this s**t, but it's gotten truly ridiculous. On the second go-round in Jersey City, it was sent to Denver ???!!!. The destination is Upstate NY, nearest hub Albany. Good thing it's a reputable seller (Squidco via Discogs). I'm expecting to have to request a refund. But it only stayed in JC for a few hours this time - last time they kept it a week!

All of this back & forth... and then people wonder why the post office is in such dire financial straits. It seems obvious.

As a former employee I just don't get this stuff.  Of course I posted my similar experience. From what I've read online overall first class and bulk(junk) mail volume is way down because of the virus. There are days when there is nothing in my mailbox. As for parcel volume I'm hearing it's comparable to the Christmas holidays because with many stores closed and people home, there is a lot or ordering online. Amazon can't even guarantee 2 day delivery for Prime members. Chewy where we order our pet food, is taking forever to ship. We placed an order over 10 days ago and still hasn't shipped.  Perhaps the rank and file at the USPS is overwhelmed. Not that's an excuse. Just weird stuff that escapes me.

I see that 45 is ordering the USPS to quadruple their rates in order to get any "relief" signed off on. At that rate people will be forced to switch to UPS, FedEx, etc..
