clifford_thornton Posted April 15, 2015 Report Share Posted April 15, 2015 I'm extremely fond of this one: I have a hard time choosing among the Braxton soli, though the ones I have skew toward the earlier end - Delmark, America, Arista, Futura. Hard also to choose a Lacy solo as there are so many stupendous ones. Solo at Mandara is really nice (have only heard it - don't own a physical copy). Cycles is one I've been spending time with lately - partly including duets with a dancer - and it's quite wonderful as well. I'm also all for Brötzmann solo, especially 14 Love Poems but there are other excellent ones as well. "Wind instrument" means any brass or woodwind - anything you blow through to get a sound and subsequently have to get the spit out of.
