Kevin Bresnahan
Tom Evered is reporting on Facebook that Bruce Lundvall passed away at 3:00 PM today. He was a great friend to the Jazz community and will be missed. A sad day for Jazz. JSngry
Moving this to Artists, because the way he navigated the industry was superbly artistic, not unlike so much of the music that he facilitated.

sidewinder
RIP and many thanks Mr Lundvall for a great legacy of stewardship at CBS and Blue Note. So much great music nurtured and released thanks to him. A very sad day for jazz, for sure. Wasn't there a thread a short while ago about an auction of his art collection? medjuck
I had business dealings with him a couple of times and he was always gracious. (He also gave me the Monk and Bud Powell Blue Note box sets.) A very nice manin a business where you can't say that about everybody.

Kevin Bresnahan
If anyone on Facebook is friends with Tom Evered (tomatbluenote on the old Blue Note bulletin board), he has been posting some funny reminisces about Bruce called Tale Of Topsy. They paint the picture of a man who loved life and made it better for those around him. I wish I had known him. paul secor
I read the story as Bruce Lundvall eating and boozing on the company's tab. And who paid for that? You and I.
