Scott Dolan
Does anyone else here enjoy Phish? I initially got into them in the mid 90's, but hadn't really listened to them much over the last few years.Got an itch recently to hear them again and picked up the outstanding 8 disc live box of their Amsterdam dates from 1997. Beautiful performances, and they remind me what a phenomenal group of musicians they are.
page
I just learned about them this week. Pretty good band. Did you ever saw them perform life? The album from Amsterdam being recorded at Paradiso! I can tell you it has been one of my favourite concert places and I've seen some mighty fine rock bands there, even have performed there myself some in my rock singing days. We in the windmill area are pretty proud of that place, it is kind of like our pop temple. It's magical really.
Scott Dolan
Unfortunately, I haven't seen them live. They're playing Kansas City at the end of the month, but I don't think my wife and I will be able to make it. But, I'm enjoying the private performances in my living room. .:.impossible
Lots of fun high school and college memories. I remember dubbing these tapes weeks after the shows. Paradise Amsterdam. I saw them the following summer in Barcelona. Similar sized club. Similar energy. They were enjoying their lack of European notoriety. Lots of fun. Scott Dolan
Very cool! I kept hearing about how incredible the '97 tour was, and how the Paradiso shows were Phish at their pinnacle according to many, so I decided to check this set out. It's as incredible as advertised. Very satisfied! And 8 hours of music for $35 is a hell of a return on investment!!!
.:.impossible
Listening on spotify. My former self would love to "matrix" these with his 3rd gen maxell xlii 90's! This is good Phish. It's not going to convert anybody unless they have a couple of hours, at which point I'd accept concession at best. I like it. It's been a while. I'd go see them in a heartbeat right now. Lots of fun. Download Phish On Demand app. Search Barcelona. There are three consecutive nights from early July 1998 at a club called Zeleste. A bunch of us were in Barcelona that week. The place was packed with Europeans and a small mingling of holiday Americans. We had a blast. It it must be amazing to be able to step back from three night sold out runs at coliseums to three night SRO at club/theaters in front of virtually new audiences. it was just fun. Scott Dolan
It took two whole songs on this set to convince I was in for possibly the best Phish I've ever heard. By the time Divided Sky ended, I knew this was something special. Disc 2 from Squirming Coil through Prince Caspian might be the strongest side I've ever heard from them. Has there been any official releases of those Barcelona shows?
