Apparently, there exists a recording of Rollins playing with Miles Davis and John Coltrane from 1957. Anyone ever hear about this? erhodes Posted July 30, 2016 Report Share Posted July 30, 2016 Anything is possible but this is unlikely. Losin lists no such session. Neither does the Coltrane reference. Rollins was leading his own band at this time and Trane was with Monk. The Miles/Sonny/Trane set that is referenced in the "literature" is at the Audobon Ballroom circa 1949-50. I've collected everything recorded by Sonny whether official or private and never ever seen reference to this. Here's to hoping it really does exist.
