danasgoodstuff
like this as much as anything from this century, YMMV. The whole album, not just this cut.
7/4
Great album.
Eric
I think I fall in the YMMV bucket I have listened to it a couple times and to me it sounds like a competent, if somewhat sterile blues album. Nothing wrong with the Stones putting it out and if helps bring attention to the genre, great. I don't think it is either a remarkable Stones or blues album. Hey, that's why we have discussions...thanks for keeping it respectful. I'm willing to admit I may be projecting a bit 'cause I'm really enjoying being more excited about this than any Stones album since at least Tattoo You, 35 years ago. Big Beat Steve
Considering his penchant for the blues (if his "Odyssey" book is anything to go by), it would be interesting to hear Bill Wyman's opinion on this release.

Oh absolutely, me too, and I love what Sonny played there. But earlier in my life I had been a buy the new Stones album the day it comes out guy and I'm still that way about Sonny. Yeah, I didn't mean to mute your enthusiasm! I had high hopes for this one - maybe too high. I was hoping for more of a snarling guitar fest. So part of my reaction is really more "too much Jagger" and not enough of Keith and the guys.
jlhoots
I like the video with Kristen Stewart.
John L
I like this album quite a bit. It actually exceeded my expectations. I particularly like the way that they do the title track, Hoo Doo Man, and Everybody Knows About My Good Thing.
Rooster_Ties
Is Keith on lead vocals on any cuts. (And which ones?)

Not to my ears, and Micks singing is much less mannered than recently. Not even sure when it's Keith playing lead guitar, he & Woody are two peas in a pod. I had completely forgotten about Rollins being on there. Haven't listened to that album in a long time. Little T&A might have been their last classic. I actually thought there were some really great tunes on Steel Wheels. All the singles from that album were strong, IMO. The rest was filler. Kind of a latter day It's Only Rock And Roll. Milestones
I've checked out samples and they sound good to these ears. I like the Stones a lot, yet I've never had a huge amount of their discography. I can see myself adding this one.
