The last of Mobley's Blue Note albums missing in my collection. Had an LP copy and sold it, but never got the CD. But last week I thought it was a shame I didn't have it. IMO it is one of the weakest Mobley albums - the two pop tunes fail to inspire him. Pulled it from the mailbox today after work and played it - I like those typical Moble yhard bop tunes the best, and Lamont Johnsons Maiden Voage inspired final tune - Hancock sophistication going Boogaloo.

I always considered this a great 10" lp.

Wonderful recording! And as the icing on the cake, 'See You At Per Tutti's' is the most monkish non-Monk composition I have ever heard...

I like Mike Reed. I believe he has a new CD coming out on 482.

Steve Lacy – Associates: Steve Lacy Duets (Felmay)

MI0002438394.jpg?partner=allrovi.com

Duets with: trombonists Roswell Rudd and George Lewis; percussionists Muhammad Ali and Masahiko Togashi; pianists Ulrich Gumpert, Bobby Few and Mal Waldron; guitarist Derek Bailey; saxophonist Steve Potts; and vocalist Irene Aebi.

Sourced from Lacy's archives recorded from 1982 to 1994.

Also, if anyone is looking for this CD, I think that Wayside Music has copies for $5.
