Some performers were better suited to the LP format, where they could be listened to in 15-18 minute doses.  I had to stop listening to this after track 16 (out of 21) on this CD -- just too much of a trad jazz overload!  Spirited playing recorded in decent sound, but a little bit goes a long way.

Santana - Borboletta (Columbia)
I grew up listening to this album. It was one of my father's LPs, and he played it often.  I still love it.  Of course, when I was a kid, I had no idea that there were so many jazz musicians on it (Airto, Flora, Stanley Clarke).  Hearing this type of music almost certainly "planted the seeds" for my subsequent interest in jazz.

As time goes by this album means more and more to me. It really speaks to me, it evokes in me the sort of peaceful revery that sleeping in on a weekend morning used to bring me in my thirties. . . .
