jeffcrom Posted March 5, 2019 Report Share Posted March 5, 2019 An eclectic day so far: Cream - Disraeli Gears (Polydor mono CD) Onward Brass Band - Paul Barbarin's Onward Brass Band in Concert 1968 (Jazz Crusade) Theon Cross - Fyah (Gearbox) Muhal Richard Abrams - Young at Heart, Wise in Time (Delmark) I'm apparently in the minority in not being very impressed by the Theon Cross, at least based on one listen. I had high hopes based on the concept and the clips I had heard, but I found the riff-based tunes and (more importantly) the solos pretty simplistic.
