Nice video of Bill Doggett with Bubba Brooks and by the youtube comments, the drummer also played with the Dave Matthews band?

Nice description of how Honky Tonk came about in the last interview segment - and really, did anyone ever tell Bill that his rug looked ridiculous?

First Lp, tracks A1 to B5 is a reissue of GNPs Jimmy Giuffre, Bob Cooper, Harry Klee, Bob Enevoldsen With The Marty Paich Octet - Tenors West (1956).
Second Lp, tracks C1 to D5 is a reissue of GNPs Jack Sheldon And His Exciting All-Star Big-Band - Jack's Groove (1961).

The first 4 tracks feature a quartet,  Blakey with Henry Durant on tenor, Horace Silver, & Percy Heath. This is the only time I have heard, or heard of Henry Durant? Wonder what happened to him?

The remaining 8 tracks have some especially fine playing from Joe Gordon and Gigi Gryce. 7 of the 8 tunes are Gryce compositions. Many of them deserve to be played far more often.

Mal Waldron "Mal-1" or "All the Things You could be if Charles Mingus was once Your Employer". . . . This is a very Mingusian session imo. Listening to. very early Japanese Prestige cd.
