One of the two times I've been to the Village Vanguard was to see this Harrell quintet. :tup

I bet that was good!  I would love to see Harrell live.  Never have.

And a superb platter overall....

Indeed.

I am trying to think of a jazz guitarist who started incorporating rock-like influences into their playing before Hahn did, and I'm not sure I can name one. Maybe Gabor Szabo? I think that's mostly Szabo being Szabo.

Larry Coryell comes to mind.

Some heavy in-law stuff going down and I haven't had a lot of listening time the last few days, but I'm getting a little solo time this evening. Started off with this one, which I couldn't find for a few months and wanted to hear badly, and finally discovered it had slipped down behind a bookcase.

I sure needed to hear the lovely voice of Paula Morelenbaum.

I am spinning this one now--It's been too long. I really like this one, one of the first if not the first live performances of Wayne with the Quintet. The sound is very good and the playing is spirited.
