Now playing Roscoe Mitchell - Splatter (2020)

R-15253212-1588716220-2867.jpeg.jpg

Roscoe Mitchell with Strings.

He's been interested in expanding his music to larger ensembles in the last decade and I have aided him in this effort.

Go Mr Mitchell! In ten days he will be an amazing 81. Thank god he is in a position to do many things.

I have to say I'm really impressed by it. I listened to it twice in one go. It has a unique language, which is surprisingly rare when writing for this scale.

Mr. Mitchell is probably my favourite artist and it's amazing to see how he is continuing to grow at every stage of his career.

I think so? The label, I can't recall...it came out in that year or so. I bought it right away, jammed it really good, and then put it up for the next time. It's a pretty good record!

you can buy it here, it's certainly worth it,... winkelmand is Warenkorb.... but if you just write a nice email in German they'll be able to handle it...

Thanks Niko

Have from that souce the Rollins & Gerry Mulligan. There are 2 or 3 more looking very tempting.

The SQ is good IMHO.

There was life before Passport, it turns out.

Like I said in that "other" thread  yesterday.

Having done Eurojazz listening all day (as a background to that other thread), I think I will pull out my copy of that one next.
