After a lunch break I had to listen to disc 1 of this building block of my musical world. . .

Miles Davis "Bitches Brew" Mobile Fidelity SACD

And then it was on to this disc which is a fine one. Duduka is such a fantastic drummer--and the berimbau feature here is so flippin' well recorded. And there's Maucha Adnet on hand as well. A killer album of Brazilian jazz.

Duduka Da Fonseca "Samba Jazz Fantasia"

Now onto this one . . .I haven't played this one often enough. I'm going to fix that.

David Sanchez "Sketches of Dreams" Columbia cd

Had to squeeze this one into today's listening. "Matita Perê" Antônio Carlos Jobim, Polygram Brazil cd.

I'm not always that big a fan of Ogerman's work with Jobim but there's magic in these orchestrations, and Jobim worked seriously here to create a splendid album. I like his multi-tracked vocals and his singing overall is so heart-felt. One of my favorite albums.

Sonny Rollins - Old Flames (Milestone, 1993)
Wonderful.

It sure must be !
It is possible that I don´t have all Milestones, since especially in the early 90´s a didn´t have much time for music, I was doin a second job to my main job, was fallin in love with the girl who became my wife....
Now I´m listening more to the live albums, but this here sure is fine, ballads I suppose.
