Saw the band in Southport, UK shortly after they made this album. Great stuff! :tup

This one is going to make a lot of best of 2019 lists this year, and deservedly so.   These guys really listen to each other.   Fantastic stuff.

Freddie Hubbard "Open Sesame" Blue Note Japan RVG LP facsimile cd.

Freddie here always has looked to me as if he was drawn by comic book artist George Tuska. It's the pose and the angle. I have a number of copies of this (Platinum SHM-CD which is a mono transfer, XRCD24 and this one) and they all sound very good. Tina Brooks! Taken from us way too soon.

All in all, my favorite Tina Brooks record. Blue Mitchell sounds great here also.

This one again:

Scenes [John Stowell, Jeff Johnson, John Bishop] - Along the Way (Origin)

You can tell that these guys have played together for a while. Very tangible feeling of a band, not just three dudes who happen to be making a record.

Putting the baby down with this one.  It's been a few years since I last listened to it, so it's almost like hearing it for the first time.
