Avoided this album for some time but today i had to pick it up for 15 euro sealed in action at the local recordshop. First listen. I did like Kid A from start.

John Coltrane, "Ballads" Japan Platinum SHM-CD. Again. . . it sounds so good. This is the best sounding version of this release I have heard.

Love this session. It really stands out.

Perfect pairing of Rollins with Jim Hall, who is both astonishing at single notes and chords, or best, a mixture of both.

Yes. :tup  A "perfect" record.

IMO Mood releases were a mixed bag, some brilliant (like the Dauner solo album), others heavily over-produced (like the Voices LP or the Head, Heart & Hands. I'll open a thread on the label.

Discs 4 and 5, the Mr. Natural session: With a rhythm section of McCoy, Cranshaw, Elvin and Barretto, the groove is so damn deep (and Lee up front!).  I only got this set last year (for $50, discs sealed) and it is such a fine set.

Now there’s a familiar name - pretty sure I saw him with Elvin but not quite sure exactly where or when !

Uldated - a bit of research says it is highly likely to have been Sept 1979 at Ronnie Scotts. Ari Brown, Marvin Horn on guitar and Andy McLeod on bass. I have vague memories of them doing ‘Three Card Molly’. :)
