Jackie McLean ........the title tune very nice, based on Star Eyes, it´s not done often, but I have it also on record from The Heads of State with Gary Bartz..... I don't know much about Shepp's eighties work, but it's a definite departure from his fire music or gospel days in tone. Great song selections on this ("Jordu", "Cubano Chant", "Daahoud" are all favorites of the era for me). Recorded 1960. Excellent sound quality, which is true of this whole series.
