Piano trios on CD this afternoon.

and it's deep, too!

Lloyd toured in support of this CD release but I don't seem to remember Abercrombie being in the touring band, It was a great show either way.

Haven't played this one for a while and I like it. It always surprises me that there are SEVEN tunes on this release, I ususally assume a Blue Note release has six!

Horace Silver, "Horacescope" 24 bit by RVG cd from Japan.

So good.  Vick's magnum opus -- and one of the gems of the Strata-East catalog.

i've been playing that lately.  It's not entirely practical in that it's a little difficult to open but I think it's the most original package ever.  Each disc has its own  design as does the paper sleeve and the cardboard  protector (what is that called?). A lot of graphics . I'm surprised that it was an edition of 20,000.

Been listening to the  Roy Bird (aka Professor Longhair) sides. Is this the earliest example of that style of New Orleans  piano playing?

Disc 2: One of my all-time favorite Mosaics.  I'd like to sit down and write a lengthy post about it at some point.
