Saw this group (with Turre added) within days of this performance. Some of the tunes played here such as ‘Eastern Joy Dance’ were at my gig too.

The Whitfield is one of the best sounding live recordings I ever heard! Great playing, too.

Got a chance to listen to another disc or so so I am replaying this one. Mastering is quite good.

Kenny Burrell "Ellington a la Carte" Muse cd.

Kenny and Rufus Reid on bass, live. The All Music review is way off base imo--this is a great album.
