This CD's two albums plus two bonus tracks comprise the complete recordings of Lou Rawls with Onzy Matthews' orchestra.  Soloists include Richard "Groove" Holmes, Teddy Edwards, Sonny Criss, Lou Blackburn, Curtis Amy and Irving Ashby.

Since the record from "Big Fun" was still on the turntable it was easy to flip it over and groove hard to "Go Ahead John." It seems forever and a day I have loved the overdubbed blues trumpet parts from Miles.

Billy Strayhorn (Duke Ellington Orchestra really) "Live!!!" Roulette mono LP

Apparently little or no Strayhorn here but great Ellington and Ellingtonians in wonderful Roulette sound (I'm a fan of this label's engineering).

a very nice 1972 Stitt album for Muse.

I saw Sonny Stitt once in 1980. The concert was okay though it was evident that Sonny had "his cups".

Sorry, just saw this. Got all three volumes of the Bob Cats recordings from Amazon and Ebay sellers. As for the LP--I've had it for far longer than I care to remember!

Listening to volume 2 of the Complete Bob Cats now:
