ZZ Top - Fandango (WB). I picked up the 2008 LP when it came out. It was mastered by Steve Hoffman & Kevin Gray. Doesn't make much difference. It was a always a muddy recording. No amount of care is going to clean it up. But for what it is, it's great. :)

RIP Dusty Hill. I saw the Top several times over the years and they never failed to entertain.

^^ ^^^ ^^^^^^^^ ^
That album takes me back to WNIB and Earl McGhee ("Transition").
Had a chance to see them at least twice back then.

Next up in the ZZ Top train - Tres Hombres (WB). Again, I picked up the 2008 remastered LP mastered by Hoffman & Gray. I still had my original London pressing and back then (with ears that still worked great), this remaster was much better. The only negative was a noisy runout groove. It just reassures you that the record is over. :)

A lot of good music on that one.

I'm a bit obsessed with Shirley Collins, a great English folk singer who was Alan Lomax's girlfriend at the time of his next trip on from this one. She occasionally tours giving talks, mostly focused on her trips with Lomax.  If you ever get a chance to see one it's highly recommended. She's a very serious figure in the English folk world in her own right too.

Yes, very familiar with her work.
You should read "All in the Downs" which came out a few years ago.
She was on the cover of The Wire not too long ago as well.

Roy Carroll - electroacoustic media
Werner Dafeldecker - doublebass

Jean-Jacques Birgé – keyboards, synthesizers, etc.
François Corneloup – baritone sax
Philippe Deschepper – guitar

Disc 2 of 2.  Sarah Vaughan's voice in 1963 was such a gorgeous instrument.

Even more so in the late 40's/early 50's.

I like that one, not sure it's as good as the last one yet
