JSngry Posted May 10, 2022 Author Report Share Posted May 10, 2022 Only been paying any real attention to "classical" for a few years now (and generally more modern stuff), but Chopin's harmonies have had an immeasurable influence on a certain type of jazz harmony. mjazzg Posted May 10, 2022 Report Share Posted May 10, 2022 (edited) I suspect Mr Anderson cast a very influential shadow over the generation represented by the Chicago Underground crew, maybe less so in musical style than in organisation and facilitation. They connect strongly with Tortoise and others from that Chicago scene. Jeff Parker's in the mix too so in a way it threads right through to the current International Anthem stable.
