What an incredible album.

Yep.  It's my favorite Dylan record.

Carmen McRae "Carmen McRae" Mainstream/Solid Records cd Japan

This is one of my favorite Carmen releases. She's "on" and clearly enjoying herself.

I'd buy a few discs of just Ellington playing the piano in this studio at this session. Such great sound, and such interesting pianism.

Yeah, totally. He's not on that many records, relatively. But everytime he is, he's always right

Need to give that one a spin. A brave and sort of unique album.

I'm listening to Lift Every Voice right now on Spotify. The vocals to me aren't too overwhelming considering there is still plenty of room left for Woody Shaw, Carlos Garnett and Andrew to solo. Maybe not everyone's bag, but I can listen to this.  I suppose one could compare this to the Eddie Gale release Ghetto Music.

Roscoe Mitchell called me this afternoon from Bonn. I asked it he'd hooked up with Scott Fields and he passed the phone to Scott. This made me pull out one of Scott's recordings and I decided to play this -

Not familiar with him. I'll check that out! Nice lineup.
