It´s fresh, it´s originals and not pop tunes, it is a playing band and no synthies and it is jazz musicians like Al Foster. It has fire and is not that kind of "show" where Miles was more a parody of himself...., and it is exiting, never gets boring....

I think Al Foster’s excellent playing is sort of like the icing on the cake of that fine album - although I wasn’t that keen on the album when it came out. Teo Macero really captures Foster’s drums well.
Posted 2 July Joachim Kühn – This Way Out (MPS, 1973) Double LP. I feel like the second, with Dudek, would potentially be a euro free jazz classic if it had been released on its own. Whereas the first LP is just dull.

I dig the trio cuts. Now listening to:

Also remember them doing tracks from the album at Ronnie Scott’s many years ago (40 ish !) just after it came out. Martin Speake is playing Swanage with his quartet next weekend. Hope to catch it. I agree it is by far the best of the post-comeback albums that I have heard.

Not necessarily more. Just as much as. NP: I'm also reading Davis' autobiography. He led an unusual, fascinating life. Edited 3 July by HutchFan
