mikeweil
Does anybody here have news about Doug Payne, the expert on Gary McFarland, Gabor Szabo, and many other artists? Whenever I try to access his website, www.dougpayne.com, I get a message that the account was suspended. I sincerely hope all is well with him ... Eric
I've looked for updates for several years, but found nothing. Can't seem to find a (current) thing about him on the web.
mikeweil
It would be sad if all this information he had on his website was gone ...
Niko
Here's a copy of the McFarland discography from the wayback machine: https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20110504165837/http://www.dougpayne.com:80/gmdisco.htm#atbanddtss combining the links here http://www.jazzdiscography.com/fitzgera/links.htm with the wayback machine, one can probably come up with more (but I didn't manage to get the Szabo discography, for instance)... looking at that list of links, it's sad how many of these pages are now gone... mikeweil
1 hour ago, Niko said: the links I tested did work, but there are too many... That's because he did not write his discography with a database software, but as linked html/text files - this makes them cumbersome to handle. There was a page for each session, each release, besides the listings of all. If it turns out they remain gone from the web, I consider doing a McFarland disco with BRIAN, thanks to your search the basic info is there, and I saved it to my hard disc.
