paul secor
Any recommendations of Jan DeGaetani's recordings? I have her Ives Songs on Nonesuch, which is wonderful, and I'd like to hear more. Thanks for any responses. soulpope
Although me not being a big admirerer of Schumann DeGaetani's live performances of "Frauenliebe" from the 80's (released by Bridge Records titled "Jan DeGaetani's in Concert Vol.2") are very good and the additional Brahms Lieder featured ain't too shabby either .... rostasi
George Crumb's "Ancient Voices Of Children" on Nonesuch was a real favorite of mine as a youngster.

I always enjoyed this disc: J deG is good on Ancient Voices, though I'm not sure it's one of Crumb's best pieces. I also like the piano music. Can't find the CD on my shelves to revisit; I think I lent it out and never got it back... Edited July 15, 2017 by T.D.
rostasi
As a twelve year old, the sonic colors of that album were a real joy to hear. The album wasn't very long, but it was played over and over at our house. The original cover had the text on the front. Marzz
Another like for the Charles Ives Songs I first heard DeGaetani on Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire, also on Nonesuch (1971). Happened to be the first Pierrot Lunaire I experienced as well! Wow! Have since gathered up (probably too many) other versions but DeGaetani remains one of my biased favs. CD version adds "Book of The Hanging Gardens" as well. Thanks to the other suggestions above, will check those out!
OliverM
I hadn't heard of Ives' songs and have loved everything I have heard from this composer so this will be great to explore.
