Sounds interesting.  That's a lot of tracks, and a handful are ones that must be obscurities or new pieces.  "Children's Icicle Song," "Sister Gladys"--could these be new compositions?

On the subject of new compositions, this past Saturday, April 8th, Randy did play six new composition at his two gigs at the Jazz Standard. The two gigs were a tribute to James Reese Europe. The new compositions were "Take Me Back Home, Baby Blues", "Memphis Blues", "African Family", Mobile Blues", "Waltz For James Reese Europe", and "Hellfighters Blues."

Astounding that he is so active at 92.  Is Roy Haynes (now 93) still performing?

He did a four-night stand at the Blue Note last month to celebrate his birthday and did another gig there back in September.  I caught the September gig and had plans to catch two sets last month, but I couldn't make it to New York due to circumstances beyond my control.  I have been bummed out about it ever since.

He is doing a Guy Warren tune!

He's done "Mystery of Love" for decades.  This rendition of that tune is what made me fall in love with Weston back in the mid-70's, this album being my introduction to him.  I bought a cutout of this because of the presence of Billy Harper, who I had discovered on the last Lee Morgan album.

Did not know that.  I don't think it's on any of my LPs.  I have two Guy Warren albums, one on Decca, and another on RCA with amazing cover art.
