IPod Replacement

Apologies if this has been discussed before. My iPod Classic is starting to act quirky and it may be starting to go.  I was thinking about a replacement, possibly a Touch but do I really need all the extra stuff since I already have an iPhone.  Over on the Steve Hoffman Board, someone mentioned a Sony Walkman NW A-45, which is compatible with iTunes.  As I wear (or am supposed to wear hearing aids), the Apple products are handy because they are compatible with the aids (the aids have Bluetooth and are wireless and I can play music through them) and I'd want a player that has Bluetooth.

Any thoughts or opinions. Thanks.

Brad, is there a reason why you won't use your phone? Not enough memory?

Scott, correct.  I have a lot of other things on there and want to keep it separate.

Not Apple, so probably not helpful, but here's a favorable review of the SanDisk player.  They also discuss the Sony a bit.

When my Classic dies, I'll probably just get the SanDisk.

Thanks for the article.  The Sony one is a tad different than the one mentioned at Hoffman, plus it doesn't have Bluetooth.

My Classic is going OK at present, but I shall need a replacement in due course. I don't want a phone - I don't use mobile phones now and don't intend to start. So I want something basic. But big: my Classic holds 160 GB of music, it sez. The review of the SanDisk doesn't say anything about how much you can get in it. Do you or does anyone know?

No, no, you're thinking of the Porno.  Unfortunately, that has no fidelity at all.

A few years ago, I would have easily recommended a Fiio player, but their latest models seem to be plagued by Android operating system issues.

Unlimited budget? Check out the Pioneer XDP-300R https://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-Bluetooth-High-Resolution-Portable-XDP-300R-B/dp/B01N4NVMKR or the Onkyo DP-X1A https://www.amazon.com/ONKYO-Hi-Res-Digital-Player-DP-X1A/dp/B01M0XN4KI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1522525176&sr=1-1&keywords=Onkyo+DP-X1A Both have their issues but both have some major strengths, with memory expansion being a big one over any Apple product.
