Seems like it has been forever since the Hank Mobley thing came out and I was beginning to wonder if they had more in the archives or what when I was suddenly hipped to this:

1963 Dex!  No Kenny Drew which would be the icing on the cake for me but still ... New Dex!!

Spent the afternoon with it. A most worthy addition to any Dexter collection, imo. Dex sounds clean, animated, and as developmental with his riffing and quoting (he is, remember, the Ouotesmaster General of All Time) as I've heard him. The rhythm section could be a little punchier for my taste, but in the end, they do no harm.

A very, very good record. Gordon blew!
