Yet a third similar thread: if any member has access to April/May/June, 1984 issues of US jazz magazines, I'd be very grateful if he could check concert/festival listings and reviews for me. I am trying the establish the exact itinerary of Tete Montoliu's US tour on such dates.

Suggested Itinerary - April&May 1984:
(trio or piano solo concerts unless otherwise noted)

-Hollywood (April 25 - date pending confirmation). Recording session for the Jazzizz disc "Carmina"
-Otter Crest, Jazz Festival, Inn At Otter Crest (May 4-6). May 4&5 as Tete Montoliu Trio feat. Joe Williams; May 6 as Larry Morgan with Tete Montoliu Trio
-Salem, Reed Opera House (May 9) - Tete Montoliu Trio
-Miramar, Bach Dancing and Dynamite (May 13) - Tete Montoliu Quartet
-Santa Cruz, Kuumbwa Jazz Center (May 14) - Tete Montoliu Quartet feat. Joe Henderson
-San Jose, Garden City (May 15)
-San Francisco, Groove Inn (unknown date)
-Marina del Rey, Clem’s (May 18-20) – Tete Montoliu Trio with John Heard & Sherman Ferguson
-Santa Monica, At My Place Club (May 22) - piano solo
-Oakland, unknown venue (May 26). Tete Montoliu / Bobby Hutcherson duo - unissued live recording for Fantasy
-Berkeley, 18th Jazz Festival, UC Greek Theater (May 27). Tete Montoliu Trio
-Berkeley, Fantasy Studios (May 28). Tete Montoliu / Bobby Hutcherson duo - unissued recording session for Fantasy

Many thanks in advance

Agustín

Don't hold your breath waiting for Concord to issue any vault gems, as they have almost entirely abandoned such projects.

Stuart Kremsky kindly researched Fantasy vaults for me some 12 years ago, but he was not able to find the tapes nor even a reference in the label listings.

I have nothing but good things to say about Stuart Kremsky, as I contributed liner notes to several CDs which he compiled or was involved in uncovering from the Fantasy vaults.

I have no idea why a conglomerate buys a company dominated by jazz then feels the need to delete nearly everything and start recording and issuing almost anything but jazz. It is the equivalent of buying a four star gourmet restaurant and replacing the menu with greasy fast food.
