No, wait a minute - Jordan had recorded his only date with Silver for Blue Note in January, 1958. Mobley was before him, last session in May, 1957. When did Mobley split? So maybe Silver was in need of a tenor player ...... BTW - I, too, am among those who got themselves a copy of the Shearing/Adderley Newport CD after Larry's recommendation, and like it a lot! bertrand Posted July 31, 2020 Report Share Posted July 31, 2020 A review was found. It was Jordan at Newport. Wayne replaced Hank in May 1957, date unclear and was gone in late June. They did a week in Toronto in mid-June. Louis Hayes via Jeremy Pelt confirmed Toronto and said Wayne did a couple of other dates. A possible DC date is being investigated...
