Brad
Lou Donaldson recently talked to Tony Paige of the Daily News about his sports and jazz memories. Tony also hosts a show on WFAN in New York. Jazz great 'Sweet Papa’ Lou Donaldson’s has sports memories to treasure
JSngry
Is this an annual thing? I remember one for a few years (or more) ago. It was an airshot from the radio show. Not complaining, not at all. Good to see the old guy still being remembered and appreciated by more than just record collectors!

T.D.
I recall an old (at least 10 years ago) radio interview on WFAN (forget the host). It was interesting. No time to look for URL now, at one time you could replay the interview online. Old thread on the radio interview Edited November 29, 2018 by T.D. Dan Gould
I don't think its fair use to copy and paste the whole thing, are you that interested in memories of American football and baseball, MG? To me the pull quotes are: Donaldson has played bebop, hard bebop, soul, and, of course jazz. Just to show the author doesn't know squat about jazz and .... He doesn’t play much anymore. Remember, he’s 92 with a bad tooth. “Old age got me,” he says. “Can’t play my horn with a bad tooth.” When asked if he’s going to get it fixed, he pauses. No more Alligator Bogaloo? No more Blues Walk? “I’m semi-retired,” he says, proudly.
The Magnificent Goldberg
Thanks Dan. Yeah, if it's really all on sport... I didn't know he had a bad tooth. Damn. Glad I saw him in 2010. MG
