This hits my sweet spot:

I misread that as 'Jungle Underground' and thought Jungle as a genre must have looked and sounded very different on either side of the pond 😃

I was very fond of Jangle in those days and will have a closer look at that comp.

Edit to add: just checked the tracklisting and recognise none of the bands. I had thought that most Jangle I listened to was UK based, Postcard and beyond.

3CD 40th anniversary edition, includes a live disc.  Saw Stewart solo live at the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, PA (famous for the scene from 'The Blob') back in the early 2000's.  Wonderful show, he was surprisingly great as a guitar player.

I loved that album, such a great set of songs. Saw them live about then too

I'm envious!  It certainly held up last night when I listened to it for the first time in many years.  Amazing to think that Roddy Frame pretty much wrote it between the ages of 15-18.  Until just now I'd never heard Aztec's 1981 debut single... not bad for a 16-yr-old, surprised it wasn't included as one of the bonus tracks on the deluxe version of High Land that came out a few years ago:
