JSngry
I saw a trailer of some sort on You Tube and the only thing I could think of was, oh, this shit again. I thought he had retired or otherwise gone away. Not Bolden, the other guy. OTOH, Walt Bolden, is there a movie there?

But if anybody can play in that kind of style for a movie, I think it's probably Wynton. gregmo

paul secor
They could even use recordings by some of the older N.O. musicians and have music that was close to what Buddy Bolden's music might have sounded like. But Wynton? That's a disgrace. Edited March 22, 2019 by paul secor

If memory serves there is a segment in Ken Burns' Jazz wherein Wynton sings some well-known march in the style of Buddy Bolden-it sounded so much more like Roy Eldridge to me.
