Dave James
Thought some long time posters might enjoy this walk down memory lane.

ghost of miles
A pretty remarkable testament to this forum that it's still around and active. Back in 2003-04 no Facebook, no Twitter, very little cellphone-driven Internet activity... bulletin boards and even blogs now to some extent considered passe. This place is definitely my online home. Gheorghe
My first thought also was Fats Navarro´s composition, based on "Out of Nowhere". A very nice line and I think it comes near to what Fats Navarro said that he just would like to create a perfect melody, his own..... The rarer 2nd take is even better than the master, IMO.
mjzee
Yeah, I love this site too. It persists because we discuss substance. The bulletin board format so suits what we do. I wish there was a way to create some sort of index.
Peter Friedman
Just for fun, I checked to see who else, among my favorites, recorded Nostalgia. Found these on my shelves. Hank Mobley -Savoy, Charles McPherson - Prestige, Sam Noto - Xanadu, Howard McGhee/Benny Bailey - Storyville, Art Farmer - Soul Note, Frank Strazzeri - Fresh Sound, Rein de Graaff - Timeless, Conte Candoli - Fresh Sound, Andrew Scott - Sackville.
