GA Russell
Claude Hall "August Afternoon" Impacting: June 20 2019 Format(s): Jazz Originally from NY, Claude Hall lived in Paris for 17 years where she developed her love for jazz. From there, she’s performed internationally, holding sold out residencies in St. Barths and Los Angeles, where she now lives. As an award-winning songstress, her performances evoke the cabaret divas of days gone by. Influenced by jazz greats Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, and Eartha Kitt, her interpretations of the standards invite her audience to enjoy them with renewed interest. In her debut EP, Claude Hall also debuts as a songwriter. Reminiscent of Fats Waller, her self-penned title track, August Afternoon, reveals her capacity to paint vivid imagery, drawing the listener into her world as she does in her live shows. Reviews: “When Hall sings she displays the elegance of Lena Horne, the crisp enunciation of Eartha Kitt, and a breathy, sensual quality all her own that adds power and oomph to her performance.” - Elliot Zwiebach for Cabaret Scenes “Hall presents her live music like an actress reciting a jazz monologue on Broadway. She often enhances her contralto range with a tantalizing brand of jazz phrasing.” - Miguel Costa for Music Connection Magazine Video: Days of Wine and Roses Contact: Claude Hall claudehall@mac.com Attachments Project Cr..
