Kevin Bresnahan
For several years, I've randomly searched for a reasonably-priced copy of Bob Belden's "Princejazz", which was only released in Japan back in 1994. I've never thought to ask here, so here I go... Does anyone have a copy they'd be willing to sell for $20?
Rooster_Ties
Is that any different than this? https://www.discogs.com/Bob-Belden-When-Doves-Cry-The-Music-Of-Prince/release/294806 Don’t have time to compare, but on a quick glance, they do seem different. https://www.discogs.com/Bob-Beldens-Manhattan-Rhythm-Club-Princejazz/release/5183681 Edited November 7, 2019 by Rooster_Ties
jazzbo
Yes, quite different. I've heard neither. https://www.discogs.com/Bob-Beldens-Manhattan-Rhythm-Club-Princejazz/release/5183681

For instance, there are no vocals on "Princejazz". I've actually heard all of the music. Many years ago, Bob sent me a link to a shared hard drive so I could hear it. I just want to get a hard copy. Rooster_Ties
Sure looks good on paper. I’d probably buy one for a few fins myself.
Kevin Bresnahan
I was talking about Bob on FB today and it got me to thinking about this thread again. Still no luck, although there's a Japanese seller asking almost $30 after shipping. Maybe it's time to bite...
Michael
I checked one of the "B" boxes from FreeJazz and six Beldens but not that one.
Kevin Bresnahan
I am going to bump this up again. How about $25?

Kevin Bresnahan
So I found a copy on discogs for $12.92... with $28.00 shipping from Japan. But the seller offered combined shipping, so I found a few other Japanese rarities, including a Harry Allen CD I didn't know existed ("Isn't This A Lovely Day" with Hank Jones) & a Sonny Stitt CD I'd been looking for for quite some time ("Saxophone Supremacy"). In case you are interested, this seller, magius, also had CD copies of the super-rare Puccini's Turandot by Bob Belden and Joe Lovano's "Tenor Time", a very good date that I had a very tough time finding. I have Turandot that a friend brought back for me from Japan many years ago. Also have Tenor Time that I recall you sold a CD-R copy of to me also many years ago. It still plays great. Maybe you just gave it to me. Edited July 4, 2023 by jlhoots
