GA Russell
I had the pleasure of meeting Don in 1979. Very nice guy, mild-mannered, polite. I concluded that his television persona was mostly an act. Dana, perhaps you knew that the francophones in Quebec would watch the French language broadcasts of the games, and switch over to the English channel to watch Don Cherry during the intermissions! danasgoodstuff
That's interesting, never met the guy and he was not a Habs fan, publicly, but I guess the suits work (or not) in any language!
GA Russell
Did you see his Roughriders sports coat last week? I saw it on Twitter.

Dan Gould
Gotta admire a guy who looked at Lindsey Nelson and his jackets https://www.google.com/search?q=LINDSEY+NELSON+METS&safe=off&sxsrf=ACYBGNQNJfaj9J8PeAMtEQGx-7jOUtQMOg:1573562281902&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjivOCm2OTlAhVDA6wKHboYBQ4Q_AUIEygC&biw=1600&bih=789 and said "hold my (Canadian) beer": https://bleacherreport.com/articles/523079-what-on-earth-is-he-wearing-don-cherrys-top-10-most-outrageous-outfits#slide12

danasgoodstuff
There's at least three of note. 19 hours ago, Dan Gould said: Gotta admire a guy who looked at Lindsey Nelson and his jackets https://www.google.com/search?q=LINDSEY+NELSON+METS&safe=off&sxsrf=ACYBGNQNJfaj9J8PeAMtEQGx-7jOUtQMOg:1573562281902&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjivOCm2OTlAhVDA6wKHboYBQ4Q_AUIEygC&biw=1600&bih=789 and said "hold my (Canadian) beer": https://bleacherreport.com/articles/523079-what-on-earth-is-he-wearing-don-cherrys-top-10-most-outrageous-outfits#slide12 I'm going to miss the outfits. at least. Dave James
In no way do I condone Cherry's recent comments. Nevertheless, I will miss his unique perspective and the manner in which he presented it. Not to mention the crazy clothes. His chemistry with Ron MacLean was unmatched and will also be greatly missed. Cherry's on screen persona and mannerisms also lent themselves to some pretty amusing and good natured derision. For example, the piano desk. Edited November 13, 2019 by Dave James
