Erroll Garner "Gemini" Reissue

Peter Donolo

Recommended Posts

Octave Records has just released the tenth in their twelve-CD reissue campaign of Erroll Garner's later albums - 1972's "Gemini".

As a bonus track, they've added a "previously unreleased" recording of "Misty".  Does anyone know whether this is the version that Garner recorded for Clint Eastwood's film "Play Misty for Me", and which, I believe, has been previously unavailable commercially?

I agree that it's a damned good record.

@Peter DonoloMy copy of the new cd arrived. There is no indication that I can find that this "Misty" is the track that was recorded for the movie. . . all that is mentioned about this track is that it was recorded June 22, 1971, one of the sessions that produced material for the album. It appears to be a trio only selection (percussionist on the album does not appear) and its duration is 2:47.  Hope that helps identify it or eliminate it.
