ghost of miles
Wow! I have a CD-R copy that I dubbed off WFIU's vinyl years ago, but I'l be springing for this reissue, no doubt. Great news--thanks for the heads-up!
sidewinder
That track excerpt sounds great - I’ll likely preorder the vinyl. It would appear that much credit is due to Maxine Gordon in facilitating this release. Edited May 18, 2020 by sidewinder
Bluesnik
I have her Girl Talk on Impulse, which I like very much, and will probably be getting this one. I didn't know about her relation to Maxine Gordon. I also have one rare Harold Vick BN album as a Japanese Mini LP.
Dan Gould
Someone sent a CDR of this one many year ago, excellent that it will be available much more widely. (And I am really unclear on the "One For Me" title as it seemed to me very one-of-a-piece with her other recordings. Maybe she meant, if this sells, I'm getting the money, so One for Me?) Bluesnik
Just got it. Although it's a prerelease.

I have that as a TOCJ. Haven't spun in a while. I don't think I've ever even heard of his Don't Look Back LP, so definitely hope that gets reissued. Don't know anything about this outfit, but apparently they have put a remastered Don't Look Back out on vinyl. https://thevinylfactory.com/news/harold-vick-dont-look-back-vinyl/ Edited May 18, 2020 by ejp626
jazzbo
"Steppin' Out" was reissued on cd less than a year ago by Universal Japan. And it's already probably hard to find!
jlhoots
I have Steppin' Out from the original Japanese CD reissue.
bertrand
Will this be vinyl and download only, or will there be a CD?

Late
Excellent! It's "one" for Shirley, but it also sounds like it's one for Vick as well — he lets loose. Looking forward to picking this up.
Harbour
Queen Of the Organ on Impulse is coming out again on cd in Japan for first time in 25 plus years in June too https://merurido.jp/item.php?pdid=UCCI9342
felser
I pre-ordered from ImportCD's directly. $4 cheaper than Amazon pre-order. 10 minutes ago, Late said: It's "one" for Shirley, but it also sounds like it's one for Vick as well — he lets loose. +
Dub Modal
In the sample track from the bandcamp page it sounds like Vick played over a pre-recorded horn part - or is there another horn player not credited? Either way, sounds like a great session!
Justin V
Nice! Off the top of my head, I don't think I have an album of Billy Higgins with organ. I'll be picking this one up.

And I also have it as a TOCJ. Haven't played it myself in a long while. Probably couldn't find it right now, what with the flat move of a couple of years ago. But that I haven't played it doesn't mean it's no good. More that I don't know where it is . And I remember it being an interesting souljazz thing. 7 minutes ago, Dan Gould said: Then you should look for this one. That one also looks interesting. With lots of West Coast players.
