Teasing the Korean
Glad they are finally being released. Nearly 50 years in an Austrian jail is a long time.

I'll definitely be getting it. Any sign of a release date?
Late
With finger-paint artwork ... A period photo for the cover would have been nice.
jazzbo
I actually like that cover. But then I'm weird. Looking forward to it.

I guess with this artwork they wanted to convey that this is a fourth generation copy of a recorded radio broadcast.
ghost of miles
I'd much prefer to see this material getting released via Sony's Bootleg series... but is said series defunct? Dormant? Can't believe they've run out of things to issue, especially from the late 1960s/early 70s period.
jazzbo
The program seems to be dormant. Apparently an '80s set was planned and maybe worked on and then for some reason. . . kiboshed. Word came out that the series isn't ended but there's no news as to when it will recommence.
JSngry
This set is not in any way new to CD: http://www.plosin.com/MilesAhead/Covers.aspx?id=Vienna71-2 http://www.plosin.com/MilesAhead/Covers.aspx?id=Vienna71-3 Not the best, I'd say. JMY v 2 has earlier three tracks from the Fillmore that are AMAZING!!! The Vienna tracks are not amazing. They're good, but Ndugu was young and perhaps not ready for this gig. He's solid, but not much more.
felser
I was never big on Jarrett's work with Miles.

I can only guess that I picked them up in the late 90’s (they seem to have come out in 1994). Am just remembering that every track has up to 4 sub-track “indexes” - not that I’ve had a player that could access sub-tracks in close to 20 years. GA Russell
I saw the band in DC, I think at Constitution Hall, I think in early November of '71. (Can someone verify that date?) I would love to hear this.
clifford_thornton
How long was Santos in the band? I thought Mtume was the first regular conguero in Miles' group.
Gheorghe
I was too Young then, but older guys told me later enthusiastically About that concert, so I´m Looking Forward to hear it. I already have the Vienna 1973 concert.
