The WFMT studios were above my place of work in the late '60s. I worked at Discount Records at Lake and LaSalle in Chicago. Studs occasionally came down to ask me for help finding appropriate music for his shows. One time I remember him asking for Mahalia Jackson recommendations since she had passed. He was a fascinating character,
