mikeweil
R.I.P. His playing was so clear and structured that I transcribed some of his solos for my conga students to show them how to build a solo. My personal favourite are his exchanges with Kenny Clarke on Kenny Burrell's first Blue Note LP. Gracias, Maestro!

Justin V
He was on my first jazz album, Dizzy's Gillespiana (paired with The Carnegie Hall Concert). I never had the pleasure of seeing him perform, but he is always a welcome presence on record. Thank you for the music, Mr. Camero, and rest in peace. Gheorghe
he was one of my favourites among percussionists. The first solo I heard on the track "Broadway" on the Parker LP "Summit Meeting at Birdland". He also was in a Dizzy´s Dreamband from the early 80´s …..
