I don't know if this has been posted before, but I never knew that Getz tried to make "Sweet Rain" with Steve Swallow and Roy Haynes, but it had to be canned, because Getz was all messed up again... He blamed it on Roy Haynes(!), whom Creed Taylor fired, and Swallow quit, so Creed Taylor hired Ron Carter and Grady Tate:

This comes up at 51 minutes and change into the interview:

One track ("Windows") from the first session was included on a Chick Corea compilation album. It is very good.

There seemed to have been plans to include more material from the initial session on an expanded CD reissue of 'Sweet Rain' at some point, but reportedly it was blocked by the Getz estate. There is thread on that somewhere on this forum.

The thread I was thinking of is actually still there (I'm amazed that it was 17 years ago!):

Thnx .... was at that time "sleeper" on this forum and therefore didn`t notice .... interesting read about the thin borderline between freedom of speech and potential accusations ....
