Universal just released, as part of its Acoustic Sounds Series, Clifford Brown’s Study in Brown. The notes in the Discogs entry states that it’s a repressing of the record from Mosaic MRLP 3004, the Brown Roach EmArcy Albums, issued in 2012 Discogs Entry: Clifford Brown Max Roach Study in Brown Someone on Hoffman noted that the deadwax from the Mosaic set and the new release are identical. Anyone have any ideas about this. Is it just that Universal in its license to Mosaic reserved the right to use the same configuration after the Mosaic license expired?
