The ones I've heard have all of the textures of the Wonder albums and none of the songcraft.Underwhelming, perhaps.

Still, people like this embraced technology and its possibilities. The work they did got passed on and mattered...I doubt that whoever invented the automobile was a great driver, but there would be no great drivers without the automobile, right?

So, RIP, and here's to the possibilities of machines. They don't invent themselves!

Malcolm Cecil - a Brit who went to live in the U.S.

I remember seeing him when I was 19 at Ronnie Scott's old place in this band. (He's the one leaning on the piano in this pic.)
