I'll have to look for the industrial musicals. In the early days of the InterWebz, my wife was online friends with the Letterman writer who wrote this segment and later featured in the film Bathtubs Over Broadway. I have often wondered how and why Germany in the postwar period fully embraced that Octoberfest oompah sound. . The other day I found Ray Conniff on an early BN Hot Jazz orchestra. Specifically, Art Hodes Chicagoans. But I don't know if he's German. I suppose not. But I was very surprised... and amused.

Also very very teutonic voice, Maybe you know this one: "Junge, komm bald wieder " or even "better" "Seemann, lass das träumen"
Niko
I read somewhere these days that Heino modelled his way of singing the R after Freddy Quinn...

What Heino has going for him is the combination of his look, his glasses, and the cover designs. As a connoisseur of the spy genre, the best Heino LP covers are like covers for spy soundtracks, but with the wrong albums inside. I can never pass up a cheap Heino album at a thrift store or flea market. The condition of the vinyl - even the presence of the vinyl - is negligible. Teasing the Korean
Ms. TTK found Heino's Christmas album today. It is a gatefold, with pop-up art.
