It certainly rings true that old adage, "How do you make a million bucks selling Jazz? Start with two million."

Heh.  Maybe I should have used a word like interesting instead.

Yes its helpful to be independently wealthy if you are going to operate an independent label focused on jazz. But I don't see the story as depressing ... he's committed to the music he's recorded, improving recordings that bugged him, and keeping it all in print. I've enjoyed Reservoir recordings. I admire the man behind it just as much.

Reservoir Records is one of my favorite record labels. I really like their Nick Brignola catalog. Thank you Mr. Feldman for the great music.
