Forced Retirement sale continues - Blue Note and other vinyl

Recommended Posts

I haven’t had this up for a good while, so reposting after having made a big sale. This is every remaining LP in our household that is sellable. There will be no more.  Please IM or email me at john.felser@verizon.net if interested.  Shipping is $5.00 for first two LP's, $.50 for each additional LP.  The vinyl itself is all in great condition for almost all of the jazz LP's and the vast majority of the non-jazz LP's.  And I will visually inspect to ensure whenever you request titles from me.  At some point will be open to trading these for CD's, but prefer to sell them if I can.  Thanks for looking, and feel free to reach out with any questions.

Those two Bobby Watson dates on Roulette — his very first leader-dates — are nice (especially the first one). And they’ve never been on CD, far as I know.

The first one is particularly ambitious, considering he was all of 24 or 25 years old, and the band is chocked full of people…

Unfortunate I live on the other side of the Atlantic. Great titles!

same here... I once walked into this record store in Rennes, France, and it was so amazing I asked the guy how he did it... he said he'd bought the contents of a bankrupt record store in Chicago and shipped all of it to France and that was his shop... there are so many 3$ or 5$ records I'd like to have but they're not available in Europe except with a super high margin...

I've got to comment on the A. Kaplan LP( "COAMCP") I used to gig with him, and saw the LP in a used record store and asked him about it. He said it wasn't any commercial BS. Everything on the album was the 'real thing'.

Years later, I finally found a copy of Abel Ferrara's first movie "MS..45", and damned if it wasn't him playing tenor in the band that played at the Halloween Party at the end of the film. It's just a trio with the pianist playing a Fender Rhodes, playing left hand bass (talk about realism!), and on his solo he plays that out high register stuff that Gato Barbieri played!

dawg in PA you could find a place tmw,  to do a buy for the rest of yr stuff once you organismo bros get what they wish.   with everyone having access to disocgs now its getting harder and harder for stores to do phony deals too.  id like to think you get fair offer

Thx, at some point I'll probably go that route when I have just low-priced items left.   And maybe I'll open a Discogs store.  I have a ton of CD's coming up for sale next.

How much is postage for a ton?

I usually go $3.50 for first 3 CD's, then $.25 each afterwards.  Average CD is about 4 oz.  So a ton would be about 8,000 CD's.   $2002.75 estimated postage.  Aren't you glad you asked a math guy?

YES! I am always glad to ask a numbers MATH guy if the answer involves numbers...too many asstalkers who guestimate with not even half an idea. :g

some choice stuff there - If I wasn't in Australia I'd be grabbing a few of them.

Shipping is pretty crazy (usually much more than the cost of the LP) to get things to down here but I did recently track down Warne Marsh's solo Revelation LP from Europe & shipping was a steal
