That's pretty ignorant, care to at least try?

I thought you'd understand, but, sure, I'll elaborate. Disco was about having fun and getting laid. Cerebral folks don't usually have fun dancing in crowds, drinking, doing drugs, followed by having sex.

Not just on social and historical issues. They even mange to fuck up science reporting these days. It's all about the agenda.

Running Don McNeil out on miscontextualized PC charges didn't help in that regard.   I recently non-renewed my subscription to NYT, kept my WaPo subscription for national news and my Philly Inquirer subscription for local/regional news.

What a dilemma for a mid-1970s young adult!  Where do I go tonight to obtain illicit narcotics, ingest them with a female I’ve never seen before, and will not see again after we do it in the back of my whale of a car?

Do I go here-

…Or will I go down to an East Village basement and listen to atonal music in the company of nine bearded  guys and two women,  all of whom look like Trotsky.

Coming of age in the 70s, we really hated disco.  Why?    James Brown et al had just delivered what we considered to be the greatest dance music ever: heavy funk.  Then somehow the mechanical and repetitive rhythms of disco came and replaced it.  That was a terrible sacrifice.   It wasn't until more than a decade later when the Bomb Squad, Dr. Dre et al finally got to the business of further developing funk.   It was lost decade, in my opinion.   Disco still sucks!

:tup It was awful.  After you listened to a few songs you’d had your fill.

Speaking about that issue of the magazine, and realizing that they can’t include everybody, but leaving off Barry Harris seemed like a glaring omission.
